Swift Current Classifieds Help
FAQ
Do I have to register to post an ad?
No, you do not need to register to post an ad. You can post an ad, and manage any changes, just by using links in the email notifications you will receive.
If you will be regularly posting classified ads, you may want to register for a free account, as it makes the management of your ads much easier.
Do I have to pay to post an ad?
Basic ads are completely free, including both posting an ad and replying to an ad. There may be a charge for some advanced features, but those features are optional.
How do I post an ad?
Posting is easy. Simply follow the instructions below:
- Click "Post Ad" at the top of all the pages.
- Chose a category.
- Enter a title, price (if applicable), and description. You have the option of uploading up your photos and/or videos and entering your address.
- Then, enter your email address and click the "Post Your Ad" button.
- Finally, check your email for a message. Click the "Post Confirmation" link in that email and your ad will appear on the site.
What are the posting guidelines?
- No duplicate ads. We only allow one ad for a particular item at a time. Please do not post the same ad more than once in the same category or across multiple categories. Any duplicate ads will be removed.
- Post in the correct category. Please post in the correct category as it helps both posters in reaching the right audience with their ad and helps the users looking for something to find what they want. Items posted in an obviously incorrect category may be re-categorized or removed.
- No links to other classified websites. Please do not put a link in your posting to an ad on another website.
- We reserve the right to remove any postings, at our own discretion, that we feel are not appropriate, relevant, or of value to the our community, with or without notice.
- Illegal and restricted items such as firearms and explosives may not be posted.
How can I include images / videos in my ad?
- Images: When you are on the "Post Ad" or "Edit Ad" page, click the "Browse..." button which appears under the Images heading. Select a picture file from your computer's hard disk and click "OK". The picture will then be uploaded and attached to your Ad. You can add several pictures using the same process. Images that are inappropriate are not allowed, and may lead to the removal of your ad, and/or banning of your account.
- Videos: When you are on the "Post Ad" or "Edit Ad" page, enter the YouTube URL of your video. Use the "embed" text supplied by YouTube. The video will then appear automatically in your ad.
How can I edit, repost or delete my ad from the site?
If you are a registered user, then you sign in and edit or delete your ad from your "My Account" page. If you are not a registered user, use the links provided in the email you received when you posted your ad. The links will allow you to edit or delete your ad.
How long do ads last on the site?
Ads are automatically removed from the site 17 days after being posted.
I have been a victim of a scam or I suspect a scam. What should I do?
Report it to us so that we can take a look and take appropriate action. If you have been a victim of a scam we also encourage you to report it to the Police, using their website at http://phonebusters.com.
What should I do if I see an ad that I think is spam, offensive, miscategorized or illegal?
If you see an ad which you think is illegal, prohibited or otherwise inappropriate for the site, please report it by using the "report this ad" link on the page.
